  • Upon sign up, we will implement a Google Analytics tracking system. From this tracking system we will establish a baseline amount of traffic for your site.  Generally this will take one week.  (We choose Google Analytics because it is the one of the most thorough tracking systems available.  In addition, as an unbiased 3rd party account Google data cannot be manipulated by either party).
  • The customer need only pay 50% up front.
  • After our first 30 days of SEO work, the average daily targeted traffic for the next month will increase beyond your baseline targeted traffic for the previous month.  If not, You do not pay the 2nd half.  Essentially you hold our profits in your hands until we produce results.

It is human nature – people love a guarantee. This holds especially true for purchases where the buyer is purchasing something outside of his or her area of comfort. SEO Scams and False GuaranteesThe most common SEO Guarantees (Scams).

  • "First Page" Keyword Guarantee - Basically the scam here is to guarantee you a first page ranking for keywords that are obscure and have no competition (and no actual searches).   For any market, service or product there are thousands of key phrases which aptly describe what you are selling.  They may seem quite relevant to your business but in reality they won't get you any traffic at  all.   Saying that we will guarantee you top 10 rankings for a key phrases that has no searches is meaningless.   For example:  The phrase "Money saving SEO services" might sound like a great term to rank #1 for this website.  It is not!  Search engine statistics show that "Money saving SEO services" gets no relevant searches in the major engines and while we could easily manage a first page ranking for this term, it would not help our traffic at all.  The SEO companies have the statistics to know which phrases they can pawn off onto your guarantee without risk so make sure they provide you with all the statistics to back up their keyword choices (we do this).
  • The "Company Name" Guarantee - This is essentially a variation on the above scam.   The reality is your company name is unique.  While some websites may mention your name in articles, reviews, etc.  it is not a focus of their website.  Your site on the other hand will be filled with references to your company name.  It will even likely be part of your url and most incoming link text.  The point is, that you will nearly always rank on the top page for you own company name without any SEO work at all. 
  • Black Hat Techniques - This is not so much a guarantee as a methodology which allows an SEO company to produce quick results (which may Black Hat SEO Techniquesback up their guarantee).  Essentially there are ways to make a site increase rank very quickly using methods which the Search Engines have clearly specified as a breach of their terms of use.  Companies who use these tactics are just trying to get as much of your money as possible before the roof caves in.  You see, when the engines discover your "black hat" methods (and they will, you can bet on it), they will terminate your ranking or even remove your site from the index all together.   That can essentially destroy your entire online presence and maybe your business.
  • Submit your site to "50,000 search engines" guarantee - There are many variations on this offer.  In most cases companies will guarantee you "x" number of search engine or directory submissions.  Regardless of the number, this is probably the most pervasive and persistent type of “guaranteed SEO,” and it is basically a scam that preys on ignorance.  The reality is that there is no need to submit a properly built website to the search engines.  They will find you on their own (and they prefer to index you in this way).  While it's true that many directories require you to submit to them, the value of these directories is next to nothing.  This “SEO Service” offers no real value, except of course to the SEO companies offering the service.
  • "5,000 inbound links" guarantee - Link building is arguably the most important aspect of any SEO campaign.  But link building is NOT about quantity only.  It is very much about the quality of those links.  The inbound links must have "weight" in the search engines.  This includes "relevance" to your site, "quantity of outbound links on a page", "page rank", proper "anchor text" and more.   The scam here is that there are hundreds of thousands of websites who's sole purpose is to create inbound links (Link Farms).  Linking to such sites is very easy to accomplish in a short period of time with automated software.  These links are not only worthless, but can be very detrimental to your own website ranking.  Quality linking is a time consuming laborious process.  Anyone guaranteeing huge numbers of links over a short period of time is without a doubt using link farms and/or partnerships with websites that hold no value.
